Chinese herbal medicine has been used in China for over 5000 years. It is an essential part of Traditional
Chinese Medicine and widely used for almost all kinds of health conditions nowadays.
Chinese herbal medicine come in many forms: raw that consisting of roots, leaves, bark, fruits, seeds, shells,
resins, minerals, and animal products are boiled and drank as a tea, extract powder that are mixed with warm
water and drank as a tea and prepared tinctures and pills and tablets. For some conditions, including pain
and traumatic injury and dermatological conditions, herbs may also be prescribed for external use as soaks,
washes, ointments, liniments, poultices or salves.
In my practice I choose to use the pills and the powder form because of their ease of use and efficacy.
There are typically no known side effects associated with taking Chinese herbal medicine when the correct
formula is prescribed by a qualified practitioner. The formula is modified according to an individual diagnosis,
changes in signs and symptoms as the treatment progresses.
In our office, we carry several hundred pharmaceutical-grade single herbs and formulas.
